Team17 officially announced today that one of its most iconic classic game series, Worms, is returning, confirming that two new entries in the series are currently in development.
Among them, the new title Worms: Galactic Tactics is currently being developed by Absolutely Games, the creators of Top Secret: France '44. This game combines Worms' iconic turn-based tactical gameplay, destructible terrain, and eclectic array of crazy weapons with a brand-new 3D Roguelike experience. This time, these lively worms embark on an interstellar journey to challenge Emperor Flugg, who rules the galaxy in hedonistic splendor.
Meanwhile, another new title tentatively named Worms is being developed by Absolutely Games. This title will return to the classic Worms gameplay experience that players have known and loved for over 30 years, with modern upgrades. More information about this title will be revealed in the future.

Battle Begins in the Galactic Arena! Three-Worm Squad Takes on Emperor Flugg
Worms: Galactic Tactics is scheduled to launch on PC and consoles in 2027.
The story takes place during the "Galactic Trials," held in homage to the narcissistic Emperor Flugg. Players must nurture a squad of three worms, equipping each member with unique gear to fight through round after round of Galactic Trials.
Of course, the crazy weapons that fans love to hate from the Worms series won't be missing—from the classic Explosive Sheep and Holy Hand Grenade to the new Space Donkey, players can use various exaggerated weapons to blow the battlefield sky-high.
Roguelike Gameplay Added, Craft Your Own Crazy Weapons
As you battle against ruthless opponents, players can acquire new offensive and defensive mods for their weapons and tools, preparing for the next encounter.
Different mods will bring vastly different effects to weapons.
For example, the common Power Stripper mod can shred enemy armor with critical hits, while the extremely rare Hot Rocket can directly ignite the battlefield terrain.
