A narrative-driven puzzle-platformer inspired by Sri Lankan mythology, inviting players to try the demo and explore a beautiful and mysterious world before its official release this year.
Sri Lankan indie game studio Mogo Games announces that the first playable demo of their upcoming title, "Song of Kings," is now live on Steam.
The game tells the story of Yakshira, a young Yaksha who was captured for straying too far from his homeland and trapped in a dangerous kingdom ruled by a cruel king. To return to his people, he must find a way to escape.
The free demo will take players into Yakshira's world for the first time, allowing them to experience the game's core magic flute mechanics, solve environmental puzzles, avoid dangerous enemies, and witness the beginning of this journey.
Begin Yakshira's Journey
Guided by his grandfather's spirit, Yakshira carries a magic flute through an unfamiliar and dangerous world, searching for the way home.
During the journey, players will explore mysterious forests, abandoned temples, dark dungeons, human settlements, and other ancient ruins inspired by Sri Lankan mythology and folklore.
Each environment hides unique secrets, challenges, and the heritage of Yakshira's clan waiting to be uncovered by players.

The latest gameplay trailer further showcases Yakshira's journey, including in-game environments, platforming puzzle mechanics, stealth encounters, and the magical abilities linked to the magic flute.
Music Aids Your Survival
Yakshira's magic flute plays a crucial role throughout the adventure.
Players can discover hidden melodies, using them to interact with the environment, awaken ancient mechanisms, reveal secrets, and open new paths.
But playing the magic flute also comes with risks.
Guards and creatures react to the sounds Yakshira makes, so players must carefully decide when to use music to advance and when it's safer to remain quiet.
Platform Puzzles, Exploration, and Stealth
"Song of Kings" blends platform puzzles, exploration, and stealth gameplay within a stylized fantasy world.
Players need to observe their surroundings, use items in the environment, discover hidden paths, and creatively avoid enemies to keep moving forward.
The journal carried along will also record locations, stories, folklore, and other observations Yakshira discovers during his travels.
