At the Future Games Show, development team Nekki announced that the gunfight action game SPINE - This is Gun Fu will be released in Summer 2027, launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X platforms.
The Gamescom preview reveals the "Inquisitor," the supreme leader of the high-tech megacity Tensor City in the game, along with Ada Kopp and Malati, the Children of Tensor who are also equipped with "SPINE - This is Gun Fu." The developers stated that the new trailer also shares details about SPINE - This is Gun Fu's attack, parry, and dodge systems, features multiple bosses, and showcases various game environments, including intricate laboratories, cliffs in the city greenhouse, and duels atop high-speed trains.
Set in the cyberpunk city of Tensor City, where the Tensor Corporation ostensibly uses AI to turn the city into a paradise but actually enforces dictatorial rule, players accompany the defiant street artist "Chihong" and her sentient combat implant "SPINE - This is Gun Fu" into this vibrant, cinematic game world. Challenge the Tensor Corporation, fight through the city streets, learn to trust each other, and know that every battle will change the lives of those they meet.
The development team stated that players will explore the game world through the eyes of "Chihong," using rolls, slides, and shooting to turn enemy firepower back against them. The game presents not just gunfights, but Gun Fu.
