As the latest wave of leaks surrounding GTA 6 continues to unfold, there are signs that the leaker possesses a playable version of the game. It is claimed that they even threatened to release this development build, and the following day, numerous download links purportedly containing the game's files appeared online.
However, as expected, these downloads turned out to be fakes containing malware. Rockstar has not yet officially released a PC version of GTA 6; the official PC build exists only within Rockstar's internal development environment. Nevertheless, due to the game's lengthy development cycle, many players' curiosity has become so intense that they are willing to risk virus infections by downloading these so-called "early access" versions.
Reportedly, these fake playable versions lure players into downloading a 113GB ISO image file. Upon verification, however, the file itself is nearly empty, containing only a small snippet of malicious code.
According to users on platform X, the bytecode of this malware also includes instructions to terminate security software processes. Needless to say, downloading such files almost certainly poses serious security risks—especially for ordinary users who are less familiar with such operations.
GTA 6 is not currently scheduled for a simultaneous PC release, meaning there is no playable PC version available for public download.
Meanwhile, it is less than a week until the official Netflix showcase premiere of GTA 6. During this period, players are advised to steer clear of any leaked content and wait for official announcements.
