After many years, the Call of Duty series faced strong competition from Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders with the release of Black Ops 7. With Black Ops 7's sales and player reviews falling short of expectations, Activision Blizzard is going all out to launch Modern Warfare 4 to win back players.
However, winning over Call of Duty fans might not be as easy as Activision Blizzard imagined. The first beta of Modern Warfare 4 received mixed reviews on Steam, with a positive rating of only 37% when considering reviews in all languages.
The Simplified Chinese reviews are "Mostly Negative," with only a 27% positive rating out of 1,137 reviews:

Even players with high-end PC configurations are experiencing optimization issues. Many players still cannot run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 after updating their BIOS and enabling TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and other necessary settings.
The game's time-to-kill (TTK) feels unreasonable, and spawn killing is very common regardless of map size. Additionally, mouse and keyboard controls feel awkward, while controller aim-assist feels unfair.
As expected, cheaters and players using aimbots have already appeared in the first beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Clearly, Activision's anti-cheat system has failed again.

This game is not recommended for anyone with a sane mind and no masochistic tendencies. It perfectly inherits all the flaws of its predecessor, featuring extremely high-pressure matches, ridiculously grindy gunplay, atrocious map design, and respawn points that have seen no improvement. Black Ops cheaters are rampant everywhere.
My BIOS is the latest official version, and I have enabled TPM 2.0 and Secure Mode, but it still prompts me to update the BIOS.
The story is trash, the gameplay is trash, the weapons are trash. A 50ms ping feels like 200ms. Great value for money. Character movement inexplicably stutters.
The downside is that respawn points in deathmatch feel like sleepwalking. If you're unlucky, you get one-shot immediately after respawning, and sometimes even get killed by the same person again right after respawning.
