Recently, the development team behind Onimusha: Way of the Sword released a unique new trailer featuring ASMR-style immersive sound design, inviting audiences to join protagonist Miyamoto Musashi on a meditative stroll through key scenes in the game.
Trailer Video:
Unlike previous trailers that focused on combat demonstrations, this new one centers entirely on sound design and atmospheric immersion. The development team deliberately omitted intense fight scenes, placing all emphasis on recreating authentic and detailed environmental sounds to accurately convey the historical texture and unique atmosphere of the game's virtual Japan.
During this virtual journey, players can deeply explore three meticulously crafted locations: Yasui Konpira-gu Shrine, Oni's Refuge, and Rokudo Chino-ji Temple.
This trailer offers players an early glimpse into the vast scale and aesthetic details of the game world—spaces that will soon be open for exploration.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on September 4, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will feature full Chinese interface and subtitles, and pre-orders along with a free demo are now available.
