Xbox is going all out to establish Gears of War as its flagship IP. In addition to the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day, they have released a particularly significant piece of merchandise—a life-size replica of the series' iconic Bayonet Rifle. The item sold out quickly after listing on the online store, proving that focusing on the Gears of War franchise is a wise move for Xbox's new phase of development.
This prototype Bayonet Rifle is a perfect, highly accurate replica of the in-game weapon. Not only is it made to a 1:1 scale, but the official Xbox Game Studios store description reveals that the replica directly uses the original art assets from the game's development, likely sourced from Gears of War: E-Day, to achieve the most realistic reproduction possible.
The product description states: "Every bolt, every vent, and every weld is perfectly faithful to the original design." This authenticity goes beyond just visuals: this replica weighs 6 pounds, allowing you to not only wield a weapon identical to Marcus Fenix's but also feel its substantial heft.
With its premium look and feel, this official Bayonet Rifle replica naturally comes with a hefty price tag of $299.99. You might think such a high price would deter many buyers, but the opposite happened—most Gears of War fans snapped it up as soon as news of the merchandise broke, causing it to sell out immediately.
Fortunately, Xbox seems to have anticipated this. The Bayonet Rifle is now available for a second round of pre-orders, produced on-demand to largely prevent sell-outs. However, Xbox has set a time limit for this pre-sale. The second pre-order window is now open and will close at 8 PM ET on August 28, 2026, giving players a full week to decide whether to spend $300 on this Gears of War prototype Bayonet Rifle replica.
The only downside to missing the brief initial pre-sale is a later delivery date. Customers who ordered during the first pre-sale will receive their items in November 2026; those who order during this current pre-sale window will have to wait until February 2027 for shipment.
