The Chinese RPG Shōwa American Story will participate in Gamescom 2026, held in Cologne, Germany from August 26 to 30. Nekkom Games stated that a new trailer will be released globally during the event, and hands-on demos will be available offline for the first time. The demo will feature four different gameplay slices, giving players a glimpse into the actual experience of this unique title.

The game's last trailer was released in November 2024. Originally scheduled for a 2025 release, the developer announced in November 2025 that it would be delayed to 2026, citing the need to enter the final polishing phase to present the work to players without regrets. Little news emerged in the nearly year that followed, leading some players to suspect the project had been shelved. In May this year, Creative Director Luo Xiangyu attended an industry event and gave a speech, indirectly confirming that development was still ongoing. The announcement of its presence at Gamescom has finally reassured fans eagerly awaiting this game.
It is reported that 4Divinity, the publisher handling overseas distribution for Shōwa American Story, will showcase a total of six new IP games at Gamescom. This marks the publisher's debut at the event, aiming to strengthen its publishing operations in Europe, America, and the global market.
Shōwa American Story is expected to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC. With hands-on demos available at Gamescom, this title—first revealed in 2021 and five years in the making—will have its combat feel, environmental interactions, and narrative pacing tested by core players for the first time.
