Riot Games announced today that content development for 2XKO, the free-to-play fighting game spin-off based on League of Legends, will conclude this December, with future focus shifting to live operations. The final DLC is scheduled for release in October.
2XKO launched in Early Access on PC in October 2025 and had its official release on January 21 this year, also launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, the game's operational performance has been less than ideal. Despite being backed by League of Legends, it failed to achieve the anticipated hype. The development team has since been steadily downsized, and as of February 10, Riot announced that nearly half of the original 80-person team had been laid off.
