On the 24th (local time), Pearl Abyss unveiled the Red Desert trailer at "ONL (Opening Night Live)," the world's largest gaming showcase held in Cologne, Germany, and simultaneously launched a platform-wide discount event alongside the release of the Enhanced Edition.
This trailer, approximately one minute long, showcases the following new content:
l New story cinematics and dialogue that enhance narrative coherence
l Addition of five new voice-over languages
l Addition of Arabic subtitles and UI support
The new story cinematics in Red Desert Enhanced Edition will further enhance player immersion during adventures on the continent of Pavwel. Through newly added scenes, players can gain a deeper understanding of the game's characters and worldview, experiencing protagonist Cliff's journey more completely.
Players who have already purchased Red Desert can update to the Enhanced Edition for free.
This update adds five new voice-over languages: Japanese, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese (Brazil). It also includes Arabic subtitles and UI support. With this expanded language support, players can experience character dialogues and the game's story more vividly.
This marks the first platform-wide discount event for Red Desert since its official release. Until September 9, players can purchase Red Desert at a 20% discount on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, and the Epic Games Store.
Additionally, Pearl Abyss participated in "Gamescom Developer Conference 2026," the world's largest game developer conference, sharing their development philosophy and production experience for Red Desert's vast open world.
The development team mentioned that the game does not simply replicate real-world natural environments. Instead, it adjusts the density and layout of the world environment with a focus on player movement and exploration experiences. Distant landmarks such as towers and villages are designed as areas players can actually visit and explore, allowing the discovery of scenery to naturally lead into new adventures. To efficiently produce this vast open world, Pearl Abyss employs a development approach combining automation with manual craftsmanship.
