Recently, Capcom officially revealed the design and gameplay footage of Hirehime, a Genma from Onimusha: Way of the Sword. This terrifying creature inhabits aquatic areas and hunts passing humans by using camouflage.
Video Preview:
Hirehime lurks year-round in rivers, lakes, and marshes. With a deceptive female humanoid appearance, it carries human corpses on its body to disguise itself as an ordinary person, luring unsuspecting victims near the water before launching sudden attacks. This Genma has a distinct ecological weakness: it is formidable in aquatic environments, but its power significantly diminishes on dry land. Players can exploit this trait to find an advantage in battle.
All enemies in Onimusha: Way of the Sword are newly designed, drawing inspiration from Japanese folk tales. While retaining the core essence of the "Genma" series, their attack logic and behavior patterns have been redesigned. The game will be released on September 4th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
