Recently, the animated film "Cat's Fantasy Drift" released an announcement declaring its withdrawal from the current schedule.
The official movie announcement stated: "In order to meet everyone at a better time and allow more audiences who love this film to experience this wonderful drifting journey on the big screen, we have decided to postpone the release of 'Cat's Fantasy Drift,' originally scheduled for August 15, and choose a new release date."
Public records show that "Cat's奇幻漂Flow" (Cat's Fantasy Drift) is a fantasy adventure animated film co-produced by Latvia, France, and Belgium, directed by Gints Zilbalodis.
The film tells the story of a lonely cat who accidentally boards a small boat when floods arrive, embarking on an extraordinary journey with a capybara, a secretarybird, a lemur, and a Dog.exe whom it meets along the way. From initial friction to mutual reliance, the young animals gain friendship as they grow, facing every crisis together.
In 2025, the film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 97th Oscars; it was released in mainland China last February, grossing over 28 million yuan; this July, the film announced a re-release in mainland China on August 15.
Notably, five other films had already withdrawn from the summer schedule and adjusted their release dates prior to this.
On August 5, the film "Detective Tang: Demon Hunter" posted that, after careful consideration by the team, it has decided to adjust the release date of "Detective Tang: Demon Hunter," originally set for August 8, to August 22.
On July 31, the official Weibo account of the film "Kill Bill: Bloody Legacy" announced its withdrawal, adjusting the release date to September 4.
On July 28, the animated film "Wukong Dasheng" announced its withdrawal and will reschedule for a future release date.
On July 26, the producers of the film "Shining Stars" announced its withdrawal. The film is produced by Huang Jianxin, directed by Zhang Dissha, written by Hu Xiaoxi and Zhang Dissha, and stars Huang Bo, Wu Lei, Gao Ye, and Sun Yang in leading roles.
On July 25, the animated film "Three Kingdoms Part One: Battle for Luoyang" announced its withdrawal via a social media post.
