According to foreign media outlet Insider Gaming, EA may consider selling BioWare to cut annual expenses by $700 million.
He revealed in response to fan questions that EA will undergo massive layoffs within the next 12 months, with entire studios like BioWare potentially being shut down or sold.
Furthermore, EA will auction off some of its IPs, although it is currently uncertain which game series will be sold. In any case, the likelihood of BioWare and its flagship titles such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age being sold is extremely high.
According to reports from last October, EA also attempted to sell BioWare following the failure of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. However, negotiations to sell the studio ultimately broke down, and the gaming giant instead decided to initiate development on Mass Effect 5, which is currently in production, with EA demonstrating its full commitment to the IP.
However, the situation changed after the $55 billion acquisition, with BioWare now in a precarious position under new management.
