Recently, the cultivation-themed action roguelike game "Huangtian Nitu" launched on Steam and opened its wishlist feature. This work, which blends Eastern mythology with hardcore action experiences, uses the Yellow River as its conceptual theme to tell a story of a heavenly calamity spanning forty thousand years.

In "Huangtian Nitu," players will play as Lu Chen, an "Outer Realm Demon," traveling through different eras amidst chaotic time streams, navigating between various factions, contending with the remnants of the Old Heavenly Dao, evading relentless pursuits by Huangtian, and ultimately uncovering the fundamental truths of the Great Dao. To enhance immersion, the game features voice performances by well-known voice actors such as Mu Cheng, Suan Chu Han, and Gong Ming. This is a substantial indie game driven by gameplay, featuring stylized art and a web-novel-inspired narrative. It is currently still in development, with an estimated remaining development time of over one year.
"Huangtian Nitu" adopts top-down action combat, emphasizing the rhythm of close-quarters offense and defense and the feedback from clashing moves. The combat design features an original unique "Blade Break" parry system, delivering visceral impact feedback through visual effects like circular shockwaves and purple sparks. In terms of roguelike mechanics, this title does not follow the traditional path of stat stacking, but instead creates a deep DIY system—players can completely dismantle and reconstruct weapons, forging spiritual arms, scavenging magical treasures, and utilizing divine abilities to build their own unique combat styles.
