On August 12 at 10:00 AM, pre-orders officially opened for Phantom Blade Zero, a domestic AAA wuxia action game developed by S-GAME, on PS5 and PC platforms (Steam, Epic, WeGame, TapTap PC).
Alongside the launch of pre-orders, the official team released a new 11-minute gameplay demo PV. This video is packed with substance, revealing a large amount of previously unseen content all at once, comprehensively unlocking new details regarding the game's storyline, scenes, characters, and combat gameplay.
Where there are people, there is Jianghu. The thrilling carriage chase at the beginning maximizes the game's unique grim wuxia atmosphere. Subsequently, a host of characters with distinct personalities and complex backgrounds make their first appearance. Their fates are deeply intertwined and closely bound to Soul's journey of wielding his blade to seek his heart, constructing a vivid Jianghu filled with flesh and blood, grudges, and entanglements.

This PV also brings new story CGs for the heroine Mu Xiaokui. Her character model has undergone a comprehensive upgrade, with delicate micro-expressions and subtle movements that amplify her emotional tension and personality traits to the extreme, making every cutscene more vivid and three-dimensional, significantly enhancing narrative immersion.
Furthermore, scenes such as the industrial-textured steel giant tower, the vast and magnificent snow-capped mountains, and the giant exotic flowers blooming in the sky perfectly blend the expressiveness of traditional wuxia with the fantastical and eerie punk aesthetics, building the unique Shadow Realm world of Phantom Blade Zero, leaving players eager for the unfolding of the game's entire storyline and grand worldview.
As the core of an action game, this gameplay demo intensively showcased various distinct combat styles. Protagonist Soul not only used new weapons like the Crescent Blade and Gauntlets but also linked combat, exploration, and narrative tightly through the mechanism of obtaining key weapons by defeating bosses.
The boss battle design continues the series' consistently high standards: Huang Xingzi, who appeared in previous demos and trailers, demonstrated his second-phase murderous rampage form in this gameplay footage. His lines hold deeper meanings, hinting that Huang Xingzi has completely fallen into evil ways. The production team uses wuxia-punk aesthetic language, combined with surreal spatial scene designs, to present Huang Xingzi's manic and twisted mental state, showcasing immense power and oppression.
Soul wields a divine weapon resembling the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, facing the already fallen Huang Xingzi. Under the sharp blade pressure, it seems he intends to sever all evil, foreshadowing that Soul will be the one to break the huge conspiracy shrouding the entire martial arts world.
At the peak of the vast snow-capped mountains, a white-haired swordsman in white robes wields a Miaodao, its cold light resembling snow. In his fierce duel with Soul, his moves are broad and powerful, his posture elegant and free-flowing, each strike displaying the expressive charm and majestic momentum of traditional wuxia.
The grotesque snake-themed boss cleverly echoes the Sword Formation Eldest Senior Brother from the previous Year of the Snake trailer. Both are bound by red threads and suspended in the air, sharing similarly twisted postures, seemingly hiding important plot foreshadowing. Notably, the Twin Snake Swords used by Soul against the Seven Stars Sword Formation in the Year of the Snake trailer come from this boss.
This battle also showcased the NPC assist mechanism, where allied characters rush to the battlefield to fight alongside the player.
The highly anticipated sea-of-fire battle, eagerly awaited by players, is also presented in this video. More importantly, the mysterious man holding a baby will be portrayed by internationally renowned director and actor Mr. Donnie Yen, featuring full facial and motion capture. Furthermore, in the battle between Soul and the mysterious man, the production team faithfully recreated classic moves from Donnie Yen's films and TV shows, delivering hard-hitting and sharp strikes, perfectly combining hardcore Hong Kong-style kung fu with the game's wuxia-punk style.

Since 2023, Mr. Donnie Yen has served as the supervisor for Phantom Blade Zero, deeply involved in guiding the game's overall style and action design. Together with producer Liang Qiwei and the Phantom Blade Zero team, he has jointly created and shaped the game's most important wuxia foundation and spiritual core. Donnie Yen's deep involvement this time is not only a major breakthrough in the game's storyline but also a concrete expression of the traditional wuxia spirit by the production team.
At the end of the video, the official price was announced: Standard Edition for 268 CNY, Deluxe Edition for 328 CNY.
