Supermassive Games, the developer behind the critically acclaimed horror title Until Dawn, announced on August 11 that it is laying off another 75 employees. This marks the third consecutive year the studio has adjusted its workforce.
Supermassive Games is a UK-based game developer, best known for the 2015 release Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. The studio has also developed several choice-driven horror adventure games, including The Dark Pictures anthology and The Quarry.
According to official recruitment information, the studio had 170 employees before the layoffs. Cutting 75 staff members represents nearly 40% of the workforce. The company stated that this latest round of layoffs is a necessary measure to ensure the studio's long-term stability.
