Fans of the Resident Evil series agree that a potential remake of Resident Evil 5 must not omit the iconic scene where Chris Redfield punches a boulder with his bare hands. Although Capcom has not yet officially announced the game, players are already debating which memorable moments from the original should be preserved.
On Reddit, players are urging developers not to make the remake too serious and realistic. The excessive realism of modern games has raised concerns that the most absurd plot points might be cut in the remastered version. Some fans even joked that Chris should be able to smash an even bigger boulder in the new installment.
Meanwhile, Capcom itself hasn't forgotten this scene. In Resident Evil Village, Heisenberg refers to Chris as the "Boulder-Punching Asshole," and the trailer for the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake also features the line, "Looks like a boulder rolled through here."
It remains unclear whether this classic moment will be fully recreated in the remake or if developers will merely pay homage to it with another Easter egg. But fans have made their stance clear: if Resident Evil 5 gets a remake, Chris's boulder punch must not be removed.
