Shooting Mosquitoes with a Cannon Is Now a Reality! Domestic Laser Mosquito Killer Exudes Sci-Fi Vibes

Mosquitoes that hide under the lamp yet remain elusive finally have a nemesis! Recently, CCTV's "News Live" program reported on the mosquito-killing "laser cannon" developed by Changzhou Guangzhiju Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.

It is reported that this device can capture the flight trajectories of mosquitoes in real-time using millimeter-wave radar, and then precisely strike their wings with high-energy pulsed lasers. The entire process, from scanning, identification, and positioning to firing, requires no manual operation, giving it a highly sci-fi appearance.

In the laboratory of Guangzhiju Intelligent Technology, engineers are continuously optimizing this domestically unique laser mosquito-killing device.

While the device is operating, it continuously scans the target area with a light blue fan-shaped laser and uses millimeter-wave radar to identify and track the flight paths of insects.

Once the target is confirmed as a mosquito, the laser emits energy to precisely hit the mosquito's wings, achieving fully automatic eradication.

Its core principle involves using laser radar for target identification and detection, and once a mosquito is locked on, the laser emitter delivers a precise strike.

R&D engineer Lv Yongliang introduced that the concept of using lasers to kill mosquitoes was proposed by foreign teams over a decade ago, but due to technological limitations at the time, related solutions remained stuck in the laboratory stage for a long period.

Now, leveraging the complete optoelectronic industry supply chain in the Yangtze River Delta, combined with self-developed algorithms and overall solutions, the team is gradually turning the idea of "using lasers to kill mosquitoes at home" into reality.

Currently, the device's operational area is distributed in a fan shape, and the R&D team is focusing on enhancing signal strength at the edges of the area.

On one hand, the team is collaborating with radar manufacturers to optimize algorithms; on the other hand, they are adjusting the device structure and adding structural redundancy to minimize blind spots and improve the coverage and accuracy of mosquito elimination.

Wang Chuan, founder and CEO of Guangzhiju, expressed hope that future products will have broader application scenarios, not only for killing mosquitoes but also potentially for repelling other pests.

He also stated that the team will continue to optimize the product, hoping to capture a significant share of the global high-tech mosquito control market by next year.
