Over the past few months, Xbox Game Pass has continuously delivered high-quality content to players. The lineup for August, just passed, was also impressive, featuring titles like Grounded 2, Loop Beast, and Firewatch. Although new games continue to be added this month, officials have confirmed that Xbox Game Pass will add four brand-new games for subscribers in September.
Xbox has not yet officially announced the full lineup of free games for next month's Game Pass. However, according to reports from platforms like TrueAchievements, these four new titles have been confirmed to launch day-one on the subscription service.
The first title to launch on Game Pass in September is Moonlighter 2 for Game Pass Ultimate members. The previous installment of this popular indie game was recently made available for free to build hype for the new release. Although Moonlighter 2 had previously been on Xbox Game Pass, the full official version of this simulation game, which blends dungeon exploration with shop management, will go live on September 2, allowing players to experience all the content.
Just one day later, on September 3, members at the same tier can play another highly anticipated sequel, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed. This superhero-themed party racing game has been fully upgraded, supporting up to 8 players in a single match and introducing many exciting new gameplay features.
A few weeks later, on September 22, the 2025 survival game Dune: Awakening will make its debut on the Xbox platform. Game Pass Ultimate or Premium members can step into this desolate sci-fi world. In addition to the base game content, a new story mode will launch simultaneously with the console version on release day.
The final confirmed title launching next month is Minecraft Dungeons 2, going live on September 29 for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This dungeon-crawling game adds multiple new scenes, missions, and two worlds to traverse, where players will battle hordes of enemies, expanding significantly on the foundation of its predecessor.
Additionally, over the past week, Xbox has released several pieces of free content that do not require a Game Pass subscription, covering both popular titles and new game demos, such as the open beta for Gears of War: E-Day, which ran from August 13 to 17.
Although the complete lineup of games rotating into Xbox Game Pass for September has not yet been announced, the currently revealed titles already make for a substantial free game roster this month. Players can enjoy them on consoles and even PC, not to mention the many hidden gems scattered throughout the Xbox Game Pass library.
