Developer Remedy Entertainment recently released the cross-platform update 1.2.10 for Alan Wake 2, with the PC version receiving its most significant technical upgrade—official native support for AMD FSR 4 upscaling technology.
After this update, FSR 4 will be automatically enabled on compatible AMD graphics cards (when players select FSR Super Resolution in the graphics settings). Additionally, a new FSR Frame Generation option has been added to the game menu, allowing manual activation on supported graphics cards.
Previously, Alan Wake 2 was more optimized for NVIDIA graphics cards on PC, with early support for technologies like DLSS 4 and Ray Reconstruction. This patch finally brings officially integrated optimization experiences to users of AMD Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 series graphics cards.
Furthermore, the rendering technologies Opacity Micromaps and Shader Execution Reordering have now switched to the Microsoft Agility SDK, enabling compatibility support for GPUs from multiple vendors.
In addition to performance improvements on PC, this update also fixes a cutscene audio-video desynchronization issue that persisted across all platforms.
