According to ComicBook, Nordic Trolls has launched a new round of free Alpha testing for the open-world survival crafting game Under a Rock. The test is open to players worldwide and will run until September 7, but spots are limited.
This test is part of the Steam PvE Survival Crafting Fest. Players can apply for access on the game's Steam store page without meeting any special conditions, though their PCs must meet the required system specifications to run the game.
Submitting an application does not guarantee immediate access to the test. Selected players will receive a Steam notification and can then download the Alpha version of Under a Rock. The game currently has over 450,000 wishlists on Steam.
While previous tests primarily showcased the building mechanics, this test will unlock more core survival content for the first time. Participants can explore the island, which is still under development, and experience resource gathering, cooking and recipe unlocking, crafting, and combat systems.
Set in the 19th century, Under a Rock casts players as explorers venturing into an unfamiliar world, where they must survive by gathering resources, building bases, and exploring the environment. The game also features creature collection mechanics, allowing players to battle, tame, breed, or hunt various creatures for food, though this aspect is not included in the current test.
The development team plans to launch the game on PC via Early Access, with a specific release date yet to be announced. As the current version is still in development, test content may differ from the final release.
