A major reason for its success is the bold shift from detective investigation to classic survival horror, reminiscent of the excellent entries in the modern Resident Evil remakes. Players are excited by the gloomy, flooded streets of 1920s Arkham, the suffocating atmosphere of despair, and the terrifying monster designs. With scarce resources, constant tension, and carefully designed inventory management, the gameplay has become more dynamic.
However, the game has also faced some criticism, primarily focusing on the technical state and optimization of the PC version at launch. Additionally, some players miss the complex investigation segments from the first game, as detective elements have now become entirely optional. Despite this, the game is undoubtedly a striking and high-quality entry in the modern horror genre.
This Lovecraftian survival horror game is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
