Deep Discounts Work: Kingdom Hearts Games Hit New Online Player Peaks

With Kingdom Hearts IV officially confirmed for a late 2027 release (series director Tetsuya Nomura stated there are currently no plans for delay), many players are returning to previous titles to revisit the story. Coupled with Square Enix's 70% off sale on the entire series on Steam (running until August 21), several Kingdom Hearts games have reached new highs in concurrent player counts.

According to SteamDB data, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX hit a peak of approximately 10,220 concurrent players in the past 24 hours, approaching its historical record of 11,152 set two years ago when it first launched on Steam. The other two collections directly broke their respective all-time high concurrent player records.

For players looking to catch up on the story before the release of Kingdom Hearts IV, this is no small feat. According to HowLongToBeat:

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX: Takes 113 to 304 hours to complete

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue: Approximately 29 hours

Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind: Approximately 37.5 hours for the main story + about 7.5 hours for the DLC

Completing all three collections will take at least 187 hours in total.
