Following the release of "Steins;Gate: Reboot," Japanese game studio MAGES. officially announced a new supernatural suspense visual novel, "Nozoki Kai," on August 27. This title is positioned as a "non-scientific" suspense project, markedly different from the studio's renowned "Science Adventure" series, which is known for its focus on "logic and science."

The game's story originates from a ghost story titled "The House with the Red Roof," serialized on MAGES.' official YouTube channel "Kaidan-shi no Utage" since 2024. Anyone who watches this story becomes "infected by supernatural phenomena"—the entertainment content, originally viewed through a screen, not only affects the characters in the story but also draws the players themselves into it, hinting at meta elements that may break the fourth wall.
The production lineup is impressive: the concept and original story are crafted by Fumihiro Kitahara, art director of the "Science Adventure" series; the script is written by Ryo Anmoto, known for "Steins;Gate 0" and "Chaos;Child"; the music is composed by Takeshi Abo, responsible for the "Steins;Gate" and "Memories Off" series; and Tatsuya Matsubara and Naotaka Hayashi serve as executive producers.
