Dave Bautista has been officially confirmed to play Kratos in Amazon's God of War series. He will replace Ryan Hurst, who was unable to continue with the project due to a biceps injury. Known for his muscular physique, Bautista will not require extensive preparation before filming begins.
Callum Vincent will continue to portray Atreus. The cast also includes Max Parker as Heimdall, Olafur Darri Olafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, and Ed Skrein as Baldur.
Amazon has ordered two seasons, which are planned to be filmed back-to-back. The showrunner, writer, and executive producer is Ronald D. Moore. The project is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, PlayStation Productions, and Tall Ship Productions.
