Recently, Game Science released a 15-minute gameplay demo of Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Zhong Kui, along with new posters and screenshots. This demo is from a development build, and the developers noted that the final version may differ from the footage shown. The gameplay showcases the sword combat system of Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Zhong Kui, allowing players to perform sword techniques, use Taoist spells, and even summon or possess small demons to fight alongside them. Numerous mythical creatures appear, including bosses such as the Great Clam Lord, a mysterious female ghost in the water, and lantern-carrying spirits. The game's UI interface is also revealed for the first time.
The Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Zhong Kui team also updated their FAQ, stating that the game will retain the highly praised gameplay elements from Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong while exploring unique mechanics, new technologies, and differentiated storytelling tailored to the new protagonist. In response to players' inquiries about plot details, the developers joked that players' theories and interpretations have already surpassed the team's own ideas, and no further story information will be disclosed.
Regarding the release schedule, the developers stated they will accelerate progress as much as possible but will still prioritize game quality. There is still some time before the official launch. This title is a standalone buy-to-play single-player action RPG, not a DLC for Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong. The specific release date has not yet been announced.
