Pearl Abyss showcased a new trailer for Crimson Desert: Enhanced Edition during the Opening Night Live at Gamescom, announcing a new version of the game with significant improvements in story presentation and localization.
Update Details:Crimson Desert: Enhanced Edition
The most significant update adds extra cutscenes and dialogue to make the narrative more complete. Meanwhile, the development team has added five new voice-over languages: French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese (Brazil). Additional scenes, lines, and dialogues have been added to the main storyline and related quests. Boss backstories now include new lore, items, and memory fragments, improving the logical coherence of the narrative.
One major change is the overhaul of the skill progression system. A new currency called "Abyss Bonds" has been added, which can be used to develop characters individually. When mastering skills using Abyss Bonds, other playable characters will also receive a corresponding number of Seals. Additionally, skills can now be reset individually for each character, refunding the consumed Seals.
After the update, skill progression history will be reset, and previously used Abyss Artifacts and other resources will be returned to players. Additionally, upon completing all main quests, Seals and currency can be carried over from previous saves into a new game. The protagonist, Cliff, has gained eight new skills, and aerial vehicle controls have become more flexible: players can choose to control based on camera direction or use a manual mode with separate ascend and descend buttons.
This patch also includes numerous fixes for quests, combat, UI, localization, and visual performance. The development team has specifically reworked the boss fight against "Venus," dividing it into multiple phases, each with its own attack patterns. Players of the original game do not need to purchase the updated version separately; simply update Crimson Desert to version 2.00.00.
