Just 10 days after being officially confirmed to play Emma Frost, the White Queen, in Marvel's X-Men reboot, actress Samara Weaving has reportedly joined another highly anticipated blockbuster—Nintendo's live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.
According to industry insider The Beyond Reporter this morning, Weaving has joined the film directed by Wes Ball and produced by Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto alongside veteran Marvel producer Avi Arad. The film is scheduled for release in North America on April 30, 2027.
If true, Weaving will join an already star-studded cast. Earlier this week, multiple media outlets confirmed the cast of The Legend of Zelda movie, including:
· Uli Latukefu (The Chronicles of Riddick series) as the main villain Ganondorf
· Dichen Lachman (Severance) as Impa
· Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) as a queen character
· Lydia Peckham (New Zealand actress) in an undisclosed role
Most poignantly, the late actor Sam Neill filmed scenes for the movie before his passing. The veteran actor, best known for starring in Jurassic Park, died of pneumonia in Sydney on July 13, 2026, making The Legend of Zelda film one of his final on-screen works.
As of now, neither Nintendo, Sony Pictures, nor Marvel Studios has issued an official response to the rumors of Weaving joining The Legend of Zelda movie. There are also no clues yet about what role she will play in the film.
