The Crimson Desert version 1.18.00 update is now available on most platforms. This update adds a Quest category to the Knowledge system and includes numerous bug fixes and content optimizations. Additionally, it adjusts the resource types required for research, enhances stable functionality, and introduces multiple settings options for locked camera rotation.
This patch addresses issues across multiple areas including quests, combat, controls, graphics, localization, NPCs, equipment, and progression systems. It also improves game stability and fixes rendering anomalies that occurred when enabling FSR Frame Generation or XeSS Frame Generation on some lower-end graphics cards.

Content Adjustments
Added a "Quests" category to the Knowledge system.
This category includes eight sub-items: Main Quests, Faction Quests, Investigation Quests, Research Quests, Daily Life Quests, Guides, Archives, and Constellations.
Players who have completed the corresponding quests will automatically unlock the related quest knowledge entries.
Resources required for research have been changed from Silver Coins to Camp Funds.
Fixed an issue where high-value trade goods could be stacked up to 100 units.
Fixed an issue where merchants did not respawn at trading stalls in certain areas.
Adjusted the location of Beck's Notes in the quest "Haverson's Request."
Knowledge System Optimization: Some animals no longer need to be defeated; their knowledge entries can be unlocked simply by picking them up.
Optimized text descriptions for certain boss knowledge entries.
Stables now support equipping horse tack.
Fixed an issue in the Jijeongsa Statue Repair quest where the Contemplation Statue would revert to its unrepaired state.
Optimized the Chapter 4 quest "The Price of Knowledge."
Fragments of the mysterious kiln in Kilden Workshop can now be repaired using Source Power.
Fixed an issue where the "Defeat Enemies Around the Hut" quest would not trigger near the stone house.
Optimized the logic of the Knowledge system. The "Mysterious Invitation" knowledge entry is now unlocked after completing "Interpret the Memories Beneath Dreysia Castle."
Control Settings
The Locked Camera Rotation feature now has three modes added under the "Input" options in game settings:
- Manual: When lock-on is active, you can freely rotate the camera using the right stick or mouse.
- Semi-Auto: When lock-on is active, you can rotate the camera within a limited range using the right stick or mouse.
- Auto: When lock-on is active, camera rotation via the right stick or mouse is disabled.
Previously, "On" corresponded to Manual mode, and "Off" corresponded to Auto mode.
Fixed an issue where ranged weapons could not lock onto targets while mounted in certain situations.
Fixed an issue where the quick slot arrow displayed abnormal movement.
Combat & Actions
Improved performance for certain special mounts that previously experienced stuttering when climbing over low steps.
Fixed an issue where players could not climb through windows even when no obstacles were blocking the way.
Fixed an issue where Sir Catfish would repeatedly perform specific actions in the same location under certain conditions.
UI Improvements
Improved map display clarity. Areas unlocked by ringing bells are now visually distinct from areas explored directly.
Graphics & Settings
Fixed unstable indoor lighting effects in certain areas.
Fixed stuttering and jitter when controlling the camera at low frame rates.
Fixed rendering corruption issues when enabling FSR Frame Generation or XeSS Frame Generation on some lower-end graphics cards, such as the GTX 1060.
Localization
Fixed various localization text errors.
Comprehensively improved the quality of localized text for all languages.
Other Fixes
Fixed an issue where respawning at a checkpoint would occasionally return players to the game title screen.
Fixed an issue where help tip voiceovers would speed up when skipping cutscenes.
Fixed an issue where laborers would not work properly after loading a save file.
Fixed an issue where regular NPCs could spawn inside restricted areas.
Fixed abnormal character animations while mounted.
Fixed an issue where characters would occasionally get stuck in a falling loop on the Abyss Sky Ring Bridge.
Fixed an issue where the time flow effect would not activate after using Focus Mode.
Fixed equipment clipping issues in certain areas.
Fixed abnormal movement behavior for Etherion.
Fixed an issue in the "Justice Descends" quest where switching to Onka without meeting Torsten could prevent quest progression.
Fixed an issue where multiple oil tanks could be equipped in the same slot when operating the heater.
Fixed an issue where shields would appear when using "Preview Selected Item Only" in shops or dye houses while dual-wielding weapons.
Fixed an issue where Abyss equipment skill sound effects would still play even when the volume was set to 0.
