At Gamescom 2026, the domestic B-movie-style ARPG "Showa American Story" offered on-site demos. The producer confirmed the game has three difficulty levels: Easy Mode "Reiwa Man-Baby," Normal Mode "Heisei Otaku," and Hard Mode "Showa Men."
Recently, players have been asking if the game features a "Reiwa Difficulty." Nekoma Games producer Maolaoda confirmed its existence. He joked that "Reiwa Man-Babies" enjoy mindless automatic combos, adding that he personally appreciates this mode more as he gets older.
Maolaoda also explained that "Showa American Story" is an RPG driven by skill trees and stat progression. It doesn't intentionally punish players with high difficulty; instead, the combat experience relies more on character growth.
The official release date for "Showa American Story" has not yet been announced. Many players are urging the developers in the comments section to set a launch window and open pre-orders soon.
