GTA 6 Model and Map Data Leaked via Xbox Graphics Capture; Rockstar Faces Another Blow This Week

According to leaks, Grand Theft Auto VI's map data, models, and art assets were leaked via an Xbox graphics capture file. Rockstar probably needs to thoroughly investigate its own security vulnerabilities.

As a title with extremely high security standards, the frequency of leaks for Grand Theft Auto VI is truly staggering. Everyone remembers the massive data breach in 2022 that exposed the game before its official announcement; this week, the hacker group Cyberleek released a huge amount of gameplay footage, with a leak scale far exceeding that of previous years.

Over the past few days, the group has continuously released a large number of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay videos, with the intense pace of leaks only slowing down slightly in the last 24 hours. However, Cyberleek is not the only party holding leaked content—community players have discovered that a large batch of game assets also leaked from an Xbox graphics capture file.

According to Twitter user and GTA series insider videotech, this new leak is unrelated to all the gameplay videos released by Cyberleek. The source is an Xbox graphics capture file containing internal console operation information. Map elevation data, various models, a minimap UI texture, and some "minor game assets" have already been extracted from it.

If you are worried that more Grand Theft Auto VI content will leak before Rockstar's official announcement, you can breathe a sigh of relief: this leaked file has currently "not spread to the public." At present, only some core members of the GTA community have access to the relevant content, and they intend to keep it that way.

Of course, as long as the leaked files exist, there is always a risk of them being made public. However, we have already seen a large amount of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage over the past few days, and the volume of assets extracted this time is far less than that of complete gameplay clips, so it is unlikely to spread widely.

As it stands, this batch of leaked content has not spread widely; so far, only AI-generated mockups and unofficial materials can be found. However, the situation could change at any time. Honestly, with game development nearing its final stages, we hope this intense wave of leaks will subside somewhat.
