Summary: The medieval game Bellwright has confirmed its participation in gamescom 2026 (Hall 8.1, Booth A-041). The first footage of the mount system currently in development will be revealed, and cross-platform multiplayer is actively being developed. The PC version has surpassed one million sales, with the console version launching simultaneously. The game has received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam.
gamescom 2026 will take place from August 26 to 30 in Cologne, Germany. Snail Games recently announced that Bellwright, the medieval open-world survival crafting game developed by Donkey Crew, will be participating in this year's event. The booth will be located in Hall 8.1 of the Entertainment Area, at booth number A-041. Live demos will be available, allowing players to experience the full journey from exile to lord firsthand.
As one of the key highlights of this exhibition, Bellwright will reveal the first footage of its highly anticipated mount system, which is currently in development. This marks the first time since the game's launch in April 2024 that the developers have publicly shared progress on the mount system through actual gameplay footage. According to previous official announcements, the horse system is under active development and will be deeply integrated into combat, trade, and exploration mechanics, rather than being added as an isolated feature.
Additionally, cross-platform multiplayer is a major focus for the development team. Both cross-platform play and self-hosted dedicated servers are currently in active development and are expected to launch later this year. Players will then be able to join friends across different platforms, enjoying the fun of medieval survival and building without device restrictions.
Bellwright is an open-world survival crafting RPG set in the Middle Ages, blending survival, building, management, and command-based combat. Often described by players as a "Mount & Blade" with a stronger focus on simulation and management elements, the game requires you to build a camp from scratch, raise an army, and manage logistics, trade, and warfare in a persistent world. Since entering Early Access on Steam in April 2024, the game has maintained a frequent update schedule. In March 2026, it was announced at GDC that sales had surpassed one million copies. That June, the summer update launched alongside the console versions, upgrading the engine to Unreal Engine 5.7 and officially releasing on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. To date, the game maintains a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. This appearance at gamescom will be Bellwright's first major international exhibition since the launch of its console versions.
