Arkane Austin, the development studio behind Redfall, one of the most poorly received games in the past two years, was shut down in May 2024. However, the game's director recently revealed in an interview that the final performance-fixing update is still in development. The developers are 6-7 former studio employees who have voluntarily organized themselves to work on it. Their dedication is commendable, though it may not be enough to reverse the game's decline.
·Harvey Smith, former director of Arkane Austin's Redfall, shared some touching news in an interview with media outlets on August 19. Although the studio has closed and all staff have left, 6-7 employees still deeply care about the game and are trying to make amends. They negotiated with parent company Microsoft to gain permission to access the studio and continue developing the final fix patch.
·The good news is that the final update patch is nearing completion and could go live soon, bringing significant improvements to game performance. However, the chances of winning back players' hearts remain slim.If the update is really released, will you come back to take a look?
