New heist and economic details in GTA 6:

- Money is now divided into three types: your bank balance, cash on hand, and the value of loot stored in duffel bags.

- Money in the bank is secure, while cash needs to be deposited at ATMs.

- If you die, you may lose the cash you are carrying. - Loot in duffel bags must be taken to fence dealers to be converted into money.

- Free-roam heists are tiered, ranging from small shops to jewelry stores, banks, and criminal strongholds.

- Smaller locations like convenience stores and gas stations can be robbed, but they won't necessarily appear on the map as robbery opportunities.

- Major heists will be displayed on the map with an estimate of how much money you can earn.

- New robbery opportunities can be discovered through story characters, assistance missions, tips from others, or simply by exploring the world.

- Smaller payday loan locations can also be robbed.

- There are numerous crime and gang strongholds around the map containing drugs or cash that can be stolen and sold to fence dealers.

- Strongholds can be found through progression, NPC hints, or by chance discovery.

- Heists can be completed solo or together with Jason and Lucia.

- Earning money through free-roam heists is a significant part of the game, not just optional side content.

- You can attempt to rob any store you enter, even if it isn't marked as a robbery opportunity.

- Back rooms in store robberies may have safes containing combinations you need to discover.

- Safe combinations can be found by searching locations or obtaining information from other characters.

- Fence dealers can even text you the combination for an in-store safe.

- Each heist can play out differently depending on the location and NPC behavior.

- Some stores have back doors that can be used for escape.

- Security cameras need to be dealt with during certain heists.

- Civilians, shopkeepers, and security guards may try to fight back if they see an opportunity to stop you.

- Large armored trucks around the map can also serve as small money-making opportunities similar to those in GTA 5.

- Main story heists will also return, although a free-roam version has not yet been confirmed.

- After a heist, stolen goods no longer automatically convert into cash.

- Different types of stolen goods must be taken to corresponding fence dealers, including those for drugs, jewelry, and vehicles.

- Fence dealers are discovered and unlocked as you progress through the game.

- This progression may limit which heists are worth doing early on, as you might not yet know who can sell certain stolen goods.

- At certain points, the story will completely halt until Jason and Lucia reach the required amount of money.

- Rockstar hopes these moments will encourage players to engage with the world and decide for themselves how to earn the necessary cash.

- These cash requirements can also slow down the main story until new tech events and contacts become available.

- Money can be used to buy clothing, cosmetics, hairstyles, headphones, earplugs, and vehicle customizations.

- Garages can be purchased to increase the number of personal vehicles you can store.

- Stolen vehicles can be registered as personal vehicles by paying a fee.

- High-end stolen vehicles cannot be registered initially; this ability is unlocked through progression.

- Additional safe houses cannot be purchased because Jason and Lucia are on the run in the story.

- Rockstar did not give TGG a clear answer on whether businesses can be purchased.

- Rockstar acknowledged the issue in GTA 5 where players were given large amounts of money late in the story without enough meaningful things to spend it on.

- The team is actively addressing this issue through the economic system this time.

- Rockstar is currently keeping some of the major items players can spend money on under wraps, possibly because they are story-related.
