Rockstar Executive Confirms GTA 6 Will Release on Schedule, Aims to Alleviate Player Concerns About Quality

Previously, the publicly revealed gameplay footage of GTA VI was quite limited, and players had been concerned about the game's quality before the extended gameplay demo was released on Netflix. Now that these concerns have largely been alleviated, Rob Nelson, Development Director and Co-Head at Rockstar North, expressed hope that another major player concern—whether the game would be delayed again—could also be put to rest.

During an interview with Famitsu, the journalist mentioned that after watching the extended gameplay demo of GTA VI premiered on Netflix, concerns about the game's quality had subsided, but one doubt remained: whether the game could officially launch in November.

GTA VI has already undergone two schedule adjustments: the first pushed the release from 2025 to 2026, and the second delayed it by six months from May 26 to November 19. Nevertheless, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has consistently maintained the November release window, repeatedly reaffirming his confidence in this timeframe during interviews.

Nelson has now echoed this sentiment, confirming that GTA VI will launch on schedule in November. "We originally hoped that (after watching the extended gameplay demo) everyone would no longer worry about quality issues," he stated. "We are very satisfied with the final product, and the game will definitely be released as scheduled."

As the most anticipated game in history, widely recognized within the industry, both GTA VI and Rockstar are under immense pressure. However, the studio is clearly sticking to its promise, and players will officially step into the world of Vice City this November.
