Renowned Foreign Media Criticizes Leaked GTA 6 Footage: Lack of Gameplay Innovation Is Disappointing

Today, two short videos surfaced online, allegedly showing leaked gameplay footage from Rockstar's open-world blockbuster Grand Theft Auto VI. PC Gamer's journalist commented that, based on what has been seen so far, GTA VI's gameplay won't undergo any revolutionary changes.

In one of the videos, the protagonist Jason is seen shooting hoops near his house. Instead of a static scene, the game offers a complete mini-game with an aiming system and scoring mechanics. The second video showcases classic GTA moments: high-speed chases, crashing into vans, brawling with drivers, and police pursuits. None of the leaked content reveals any groundbreaking mechanics that would fundamentally change perceptions of the series.

The PC Gamer author noted that Rockstar's core strength has never lain in breakthrough technology or storytelling, but rather in its astonishing attention to detail—exemplified by the infamous horse genital physics in Red Dead Redemption 2. This leak suggests that GTA VI will continue this tradition: a larger, more detailed, and livelier city with expanded features, but without completely reinventing the series.

The journalist expressed skepticism: if the official showcase scheduled for next week fails to deliver any revolutionary new features, will it disappoint the millions of fans who have already pre-ordered?
