Recently, Banpingcu Studio announced that Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion, originally scheduled for release on August 19, has been delayed until late December this year. The studio issued an apology to all players.
The developers stated that after reviewing the current version, they found that the companion romance storylines and atmospheric immersion did not meet player expectations. Unwilling to launch prematurely with flaws, they have allocated nearly four months of development time to specifically polish the romance content. The team also reflected on their previous long period of closed-door development and lack of communication with players, promising to regularly share development progress moving forward.
Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion includes a prologue and four main chapters, with post-game story content after completion. It features independent companion questlines for 13 characters, four standard endings plus a perfect ending. A single playthrough to an ending takes 20–30 hours, while a full completionist run takes around 60 hours. Classic gameplay modes such as tower climbing and adjustable difficulty are retained. During the delay, the development team will add numerous character emotional scenes, exclusive story illustrations, and daily interactions like campfire chats to deepen the bond between players and companions.
Previously, Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion sparked controversy among players due to the removal of the original game's romance harem system and the addition of selectable female protagonists. Many veteran players hoped the developers would enhance the depth of companion relationship storylines. This delay and optimization primarily address player feedback regarding shortcomings in romantic content. The game is launching exclusively on PC, with no current plans for a console release.
