Following the successful launch of Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss has risen to become one of the most influential game developers in the industry, a status reflected in the company's current quarterly performance.
Pearl Abyss Set a record with its Q2 2026 financial report, achieving unprecedented sales of 196.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 67.6 billion KRW. Net profit turned from a loss of 22.7 billion KRW in Q2 2025 to a profit of 99.5 billion KRW this quarter.
Sales increased by 247.7%, while operating profit saw a staggering year-over-year growth of 7,411%, primarily thanks to the resounding success of Crimson Desert for Pearl Abyss.
Crimson Desert contributed approximately 70% of Pearl Abyss's quarterly revenue, with 91% of that income coming from overseas sales.
Previously, official statistics showed that Crimson Desert sold over 5 million copies within 26 days of its release.
Pearl Abyss stated that the Crimson Desert DLC will be released by the end of 2026, with specific details to be announced in Q3. Additionally, the Switch 2 version is expected to launch in the first half of 2027.
"We are currently developing the first DLC, aiming to deliver a completely new gaming experience, with plans to release it within this year."
If the first DLC performs well and receives positive feedback from players, the studio plans to develop more DLCs for the game.
