According to the report, this new title developed by Crystal Dynamics will officially launch in FY2027/28. Since Embracer's fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31 of the following year, this places the release window for Tomb Raider: Catalyst between April 1, 2027, and March 31, 2028.
According to officially disclosed information, the story of Tomb Raider: Catalyst takes place after a mythological catastrophe. Lara will travel to northern India, where ancient secrets have been uncovered and mysterious guardian powers have awakened. As various competitors flock to the region, Lara must explore the truth behind the fractured landscape while preventing these powers from falling into the wrong hands.
Developed using Unreal Engine 5, this title will feature the largest game world in the series' history. The game environments span towering mountains, vast deserts, dense jungles, and mysterious ruins, emphasizing core gameplay elements such as vertical exploration, traversal, puzzle-solving, and discovery.
Notably, Embracer's report also confirmed that Tomb Raider: Relics of Atlantis is scheduled for release in February 2027. This means players can expect two new Tomb Raider titles within roughly a year, which is undoubtedly exciting news for fans of the series.
Currently, no specific release date or month has been announced for Tomb Raider: Catalyst, with Embracer's fiscal guidance only narrowing the window to between April 2027 and March 2028. More details are expected to be revealed by the official channels in the future.
