After initially showcasing the expansion's gameplay, introducing Geralt's potential new romantic interests, and revealing other details, the developers of The Witcher 3: Old Tunes have finally addressed topics many players are truly interested in. In the latest episode of REDstreams, they unveiled the updated Gwent system along with a batch of new cards.
The new Gwent cards added in this DLC won't belong to a separate new faction; instead, all factions will receive updated cards. The developers plan to add approximately 20 cards in total, meaning each deck will gain around 4–5 new options.
At the same time, each faction will receive a new unique hero card. This approach allows players to expand on existing deck strategies without having to learn entirely new mechanics from scratch. Additionally, the expansion will include a new weather card with unique effects.
