Face the dragons, explore the Ancient Lands, unlock new rewards, and challenge 'Azaryon, the Fire Dragon'
Berlin, Germany (August 31, 2026) – Albion Online, the free-to-play fantasy sandbox MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive, officially launches its latest major content update, "Dragonfire," today, bringing dragons to the world of Albion for the first time. In this update, players will delve into the lairs of massive fire dragons, battle enemies known as the "Ashen Brood," and explore the new region, the Ancient Lands. The update is now available on all platforms, including PC, Xbox Series X|S, Android, and iOS.
About "Dragonfire"
With the official launch of "Dragonfire," players will enjoy a wealth of new exploration and challenge content. One of the most significant additions is the "Ancient Lands"—a new zone blending exploration, PvE, and PvP combat. Portals to the Ancient Lands will appear throughout Albion; some are designed for solo players or small groups, while others support teams of up to 20 players. Upon entering a portal, players will arrive at a floating island where they must defeat waves of enemies and unlock key stones to activate teleportation devices and progress deeper. As players venture further into the Ancient Lands, they will eventually reach four Wyrm Islands. Here, they can earn rewards such as chests and Soulway Stone fragments, helping them unlock the path to the more dangerous Dragon Sanctum.
Only the mightiest warriors can overcome the challenges of the Dragon Sanctum, where they will face Albion Online's most challenging PvE boss to date—Azaryon, the Fire Dragon. For those daring enough to confront and successfully defeat Azaryon,
There's also a chance to obtain one of the most precious rewards: Wyrm Eggs. Players can carefully nurture Wyrm Eggs until they eventually grow into Firewing
Drake mounts, ride them across Albion and strike fear into your enemies. The dragon threat isn't confined to the Dragon Sanctum. They will also actively attack the open world, bringing sudden encounters to all players on the Royal Continent, while providing guilds with new high-level targets in the Outlands.
"Royal Hunt" Creator Event
To celebrate the official launch of the "Dragonfire" update, Albion Online is simultaneously launching a new creator competition event, "Royal Hunt."
The event will run until October 12. Following the success of previous The Crucible events, this "Royal Hunt" invites content creators to form guilds and compete by completing various tasks, including slaying dragons. Participating creators can win giveaway rewards for their communities, while the top-performing creators will receive limited-edition physical Dragon Coins cast in true silver.
