Today (August 13), Lu Weibing officially announced Xiaomi HyperOS 4. He frankly stated that the company decided not to hold a launch event this time, relying instead on extensive user feedback to continuously optimize the system experience.There are two core objectives for this upgrade: first, to continue refining the basic experience and usability; second, to explore effective full-ecosystem AI.
Lu Weibing stated that when OS3 was released last year, the team aimed to make the experience "smooth," achieving some progress, but there is still a gap before reaching "consistently silky smooth." There are no shortcuts to this; it can only be achieved through continuous, step-by-step refinement.
Therefore This time, three major upgrades were launched at once: introducing load precision calculation and memory preloading technologies to Xiaomi's self-developed HyperCore kernel, and building the Xiaomi HyperOS application runtime environment. From both the kernel and application layers, loads are reduced for frequently used desktops and certain self-developed apps, ensuring more sufficient performance supply and smoother, silkier operation animations.
Meanwhile, for features requested by users during the OS3 phase that required significant changes and long development cycles, the official team will continue to improve them with this upgrade to meet more user needs and further enhance operational convenience.
Lu Weibing also mentioned that the AI industry has developed rapidly over the past year, with Xiaomi's self-developed MiMo model ranking among the top in call volume on the OpenRouter platform. However, objectively speaking, facing the massive number of devices in the "Human x Car x Home" ecosystem, the team is still continuously exploring how to make AI truly accessible and convenient for users.
To this end, Xiaomi has launched "Super Xiao Ai 2.0." By optimizing the AI architecture and integrating the Xiaomi MiMo large language model, it boasts stronger task orchestration and content generation capabilities. It has been specifically optimized for cross-app and cross-device scenarios, advancing AI from merely "understanding" to actually "executing."
Additionally, the official team has optimized the interface of Super Xiao Ai 2.0 and expanded compatibility with more ecosystem devices, striving to make user operations intuitive and tasks seamless. This direction is still in its early stages and far from perfect, but the team believes that with continued dedication, the "human-centric" full-ecosystem AI experience will keep improving.
