Recently, foreign media outlet IGN interviewed Kong Yuheng, the producer of the Chinese anti-Japanese war FPS "The Resisters." He shared insights into the game's level design, historical research, and creative intentions. The game will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms, with a release date yet to be announced.

"The Resisters" is divided into four major chapters, corresponding to the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army in the snowy forests, the underground intelligence network hidden on an isolated island, the armed resistance in the canal waterways, and the positional battles in the Taihang Mountains. Each battlefield features a distinct gameplay system: snow guerrilla warfare focuses on stealth and ambushes; the Shanghai chapter emphasizes stealth, espionage, and puzzle-solving; canal levels incorporate naval combat elements; and the Taihang positions center on large-scale defensive operations. Players will rotate through different roles as ordinary resisters, rather than focusing on a single legendary hero.

To authentically recreate the era's atmosphere, the team extensively researched historical records and made multiple field trips to original sites. Firearms production involved consultants with military experience to accurately replicate domestic weapons and those imported into China at the time, such as the Mauser C96, MP18, and Liaoning Type 13, including detailed animations for weapon inspection and reloading. The producer stated that the team does not intend to make this game a simple thrill-ride focused on the快感 of killing; instead, they hope to portray the separations and deaths of ordinary people during wartime, showcasing the resistance and sacrifices of their predecessors.

The single-player campaign lasts approximately 12–15 hours, featuring diverse missions such as positional defense and offense, railway sabotage, stealth infiltration, and vehicle chases. The full release will offer multiple difficulty levels, with all tactical movements like crawling and taking cover fully implemented. The development team plans to add a cooperative multiplayer mode later, allowing players to collaborate on missions behind enemy lines.

"The Resisters" is being developed by a domestic team of about 70 people. It avoids unrealistic melodramatic romance subplots, focusing instead on the awakening of ordinary people amidst national crisis. Plans for subsequent DLC expansions are already underway.
