Today (August 18), Sony held a dedicated State of Play event for "Phantom Blade Zero." Liang Qiwei and Donnie Yen explained the game's story, world-building, combat system, and other core content to players worldwide, with the entire demonstration lasting over 18 minutes.

In addition to providing facial capture, motion capture, and English voice acting for the character Mo Yuan, Donnie Yen also served as Creative Supervisor, offering extensive creative suggestions. Mo Yuan is not a mandatory main story boss but a hidden boss; players must complete a series of exploration and trial conditions to trigger this battle. Donnie Yen proactively recommended two industry veterans to join the project: Chen Hao, the go-to voice actor for the Ip Man series, who was responsible for polishing Mo Yuan's Chinese voice lines and emotional delivery; and Yan Hua ("Da Sheng Fa"), a renowned action choreographer, who was responsible for designing the game's high-difficulty martial arts sequences. The Lingyoufang action team collaborated with the Yen Family Stunt Team for over a thousand days, integrating Hong Kong kung fu film logic into the game's combat system and refining exclusive moves, combos, and character performances.
Players can use over 30 primary weapons and 25 secondary weapons, allowing them to flexibly switch combat styles based on different enemies. The game offers four difficulty levels. In the "Defier" mode, bosses learn and adapt to the player's attack patterns. In the "66 Days" mode, each death reduces the remaining days by one, and the game ends immediately when the days run out.
The ultimate goal of "Phantom Blade Zero" is to draw deep inspiration from authentic Chinese martial arts culture and integrate it into the sharp, visceral aesthetic that S-GAME calls "Kung Fu Punk." Pre-orders for the PS5 version of "Phantom Blade Zero" are now open, with the Standard Edition priced at 268 yuan and the Deluxe Edition at 328 yuan.
