Recently, Nexus Mods, the world's largest mod portal, announced that its latest data shows total mod downloads have surpassed 25 billion. Interestingly, more than half of these downloads are for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
· Nexus Mods was founded in 2001 by Robin (Dark0ne) and has gradually grown into one of the world's largest player mod-sharing websites. In a statistical report from February 2024, the site hosted mods for 2,683 games, totaling over 539,000 mods, with cumulative mod downloads reaching 10 billion.
· Now, two years later, the latest statistics show that these figures have more than doubled. The total number of games has reached 5,098, with over 916,000 mods in total. Among them, downloads for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim alone have reached an astonishing 12.8 billion.
