According to multiple sources, Capcom's highly anticipated Resident Evil: Veronica may not offer public demos or media hands-on sessions at Gamescom 2026.
German YouTuber Screenfire Germany reported that after contacting several attending journalists, none had received media appointment schedules for Veronica, nor had they heard of any closed-door demo plans. Based on this, it is likely that the game will not be available for experience by either media or general attendees during Gamescom.
This report aligns with previous statements made in July by renowned Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem. At the time, Dusk Golem mentioned that he had heard the Resident Evil series would have a limited presence at Gamescom, with Veronica and the Resident Evil: Requiem DLC potentially restricted to closed-door showcases.
Dusk Golem later revealed further details, stating that Veronica is in a "critical development sprint to determine the release date," which may be the primary reason for its absence from public events.
Resident Evil: Veronica was officially announced at the Summer Game Fest 2026. This title is a complete reimagining of the original Code: Veronica, developed using Capcom's RE Engine. It features a third-person over-the-shoulder perspective and includes an expanded and modernized adaptation of the story.
The game is scheduled for release in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2. Gamescom is set to begin soon, but Capcom has not yet issued an official response regarding its exhibition plans.
