Publisher Deep Silver and developer KING Art Games have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has been delayed. The release date has been pushed back from the original September 17 to December 3, a delay of nearly three months. The game will launch on PC via Steam, and players who purchase the "Commander Edition" will get early access on November 30.
The official explanation states that the delay is to allow more time to polish the game, as they need a few extra weeks to collect feedback, fix bugs, and improve optimization, with the goal of delivering the best possible experience on launch day.
Game Director Jan Theysen stated in a video update: "We have decided to postpone the game's release date to December 3. Like many of you, we were also looking forward to playing the game in September, but we truly believe this is the right decision, and the extra wait will be worth it."
