RTX 3080 Tested with DLSS 5: Game Frame Rates Drop to as Low as 1 FPS

Since the leak of DLSS 5, many well-known games have been tested. According to test videos, DLSS 5 significantly enhances environmental visuals in games, while opinions on character filters vary—some like them, others don't.

In terms of performance, the overhead of DLSS 5 is indeed staggering. Originally exclusive to RTX 50 series graphics cards, players have successfully managed to run DLSS 5 on the RTX 3080, as seen on social media. However, the game performance is terrible, dropping to single-digit figures, with a minimum of just 1 FPS.

The leaked DLSS 5 MOD has been tested on the RTX 3080. The only good news is that the MOD is technically compatible with these GPUs, but the performance quickly reveals why NVIDIA officially does not support the Ampere architecture.

According to test videos, enabling DLSS 5 while running Deep Rock Galactic causes a drastic drop in frame rate, plummeting from 138 FPS before activation to a low of just 1 FPS. Even worse, the average frame rate remains stuck at 3-5 FPS.

Given that even the RTX 3080 struggles to handle it, this means there is virtually no hope for weaker RTX 30 series graphics cards when it comes to DLSS 5.

NVIDIA has not officially released DLSS 5 yet, but due to recent leaks, the technology has already been tested in numerous games. Titles such as GTA V, Cyberpunk 2077, and Final Fantasy VII Remake have all received DLSS 5 enhancements, bringing a brand-new visual experience to their PC versions.
