As reported by DSOGaming, Capcom has released the official PC performance benchmark tool for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Players can run this tool before purchasing the game to see if their computer meets the expected performance standards.
The benchmark consists of three parts: the first two are cutscenes, while the third features actual combat where Miyamoto Musashi faces numerous enemies simultaneously. After testing, the reporter concluded that the performance shown by the tool is somewhat representative of the full game.
The report also showcased a video of the benchmark running on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, using native 4K resolution, maximum graphics settings, and ray tracing. However, the report did not provide specific frame rate results for this test.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a third-person action-adventure game. Set in Kyoto during the Edo period, the city is plagued by an evil cloud known as "Malice." Players must use swift and powerful swordsmanship to battle Genma demons from the underworld.
The protagonist is a samurai wielding the "Oni Gauntlet," a special weapon that grants him the power to fight against the Genma. As players explore Kyoto, they will uncover secrets and stop the threat posed by the Genma.
According to Capcom's announced schedule, Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on September 4. PC players can already download the official performance benchmark tool to evaluate their system's performance in advance.
