Tom's Hardware tracked and compiled the median selling prices of RTX 50 series graphics cards on e-commerce platforms like Newegg. The data shows thatThe RTX 5060 Ti 16GB saw the most exaggerated increase, with its median price soaring from $569.99 two months ago to $804.99 (approximately 5,429 RMB), a 39% rise.
The suggested retail price for this graphics card was only $429.99, but current prices are nearly double. Gamers can hardly find a reason to buy it, leaving only users who need large VRAM for local AI tasks willing to pay.
The RTX 5070 also saw a shocking price increase, with its median price jumping from $659.99 to $899.99 (approximately 6,070 RMB), a 36% rise.This price pushes the RTX 5070 completely out of the mid-range segment, bringing it close to the more powerful RTX 5070 Ti.
The median price of the entry-level RTX 5060 rose from $369.99 to $469.99 (approximately 3,170 RMB), a 27% increase, surpassing the $429.99 launch MSRP of the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. The median price of the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB also climbed from $469.99 to $529.99 (approximately 3,574 RMB), a 13% increase.
There are exceptions amidst the price surge,The median price of the RTX 5070 Ti remains unchanged at $1,099.99, the RTX 5080 saw only a 3% increase, the RTX 5050 rose slightly by 5% to $314.99, and the RTX 5090 increased by 9% to $4,699.99.
Mainly because high-end models were already significantly above their suggested retail prices, leaving little room for further increases, while mid-range products became the focal point of this round of price hikes.
AMD has not been significantly affected for now. Prices for RDNA 4 series graphics cards have only seen single-digit percentage increases, with the median price of the RX 9070 XT rising to $799.99 (approximately 5,396 RMB), an increase of about 5%.The RX 9070 GRE is well-stocked near its suggested retail price of $549, highlighting its cost-performance advantage as the RTX 5070 surged to $900.
Only one XFX model of the RX 9060 XT 8GB remains on sale, priced at $399 (approximately 2,691 RMB), while the median price of the 16GB version rose slightly to $474.99 (approximately 3,203 RMB).
Previously, rising DRAM and NAND flash prices kept memory and SSD costs high. Now, with graphics cards joining the price hike trend, the last safe haven for DIY PCs has been lost, and it remains unclear when this wave of price increases will end.
